President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), chaired on Friday morning a joint meeting with ministers of the South and a number of heads of bodies in the STC.
The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the matrix of possible urgent solutions to halt the economic and service deterioration, which had been studied by the ministers of the South and heads of bodies in the STC over the past two days, in accordance with the directives issued by President Al-Zubaidi in the meeting held last Tuesday.
The attending ministers and heads of bodies in the STC presented a number of opinions and interventions to enrich the matrix and proposals for measures that can be implemented in the short term to ensure the stability of electricity service and stop the rapid deterioration in the value of the local currency, including strengthening the measures recently approved by the Central Bank and pressing for their speedy implementation on the ground.
During the meeting, the president emphasized that the primary responsibility for improving the living conditions of citizens lies with the government, indicating that the people are waiting for real steps and measures to address their suffering and concerns and meet their aspirations for stability and a decent living.
The President stressed the need to work as a team and take urgent corrective measures to activate the role of revenue-generating and productive institutions, especially Aden refinery, to ensure a state of living stability for citizens in the near term and to preserve all the gains that have been achieved in various fields.
At the end of the meeting, the president highlighted the necessity for the ministers and heads of bodies in the STC to keep open-ended sessions, each within the scope of their jurisdiction, to come up with logic and scheduled matrices to solve urgent issues and challenges and realistic work mechanisms that ensure their speedy implementation.
