President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed on the Workflow of SBDMA

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Thursday, with Dr. Abdul Qader Al-Bakri, Executive Director of the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances (SBDMA), accompanied by a number of its members.

President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Dr. Al-Bakri on the SBDMA's operations and the efforts made to carry out its tasks in drawing up the country’s pharmaceutical policies, monitoring and examining medicines and ensuring their conformity with regional and international standards, specifications, and requirements, following up on the procedures and phases for transporting them to the country, and tracking the means of transportation to ensure their safety by examining them in the laboratories of the SBDMA.

In addition to that, the President listened to the efforts of the SBDMA to develop its laboratories, enhance the capabilities of its staff, and expand its branches throughout the governorates.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed the need to assume its national responsibility in overseeing and controlling the import of drugs and locally manufactured medicines, working to strengthen the country's drug stockpile, controlling drug prices and smuggled drugs in coordination with the security services, and directing the relevant authorities to assist the SBDMA in carrying out its tasks, each within the scope of its jurisdiction.
