President Al-Zubaidi Meets with Southern Bloc Head in Parliament Fouad Obaid Wakid

 

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Monday, with Eng. Fouad Obaid Wakid, Head of the Southern Bloc in the Parliament.

In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly, the President welcomed MP Fouad Wakid, lauding his honorable national stances and highlighting that his announcement of joining the STC gave a strong boost to the efforts exerted by the STC to unify ranks and strengthen southern national cohesiveness.

President Al-Zubaidi reiterated that the STC is a national political entity that brings together all southerners, and its hand will definitely remain extended to all the people of the South regardless of their different opinions and orientations, based on the deep-rooted belief and well-seated principle that the South will only be with and for all its people.

The meeting discussed the mechanisms of coordination and cooperation between the Southern Bloc in the Parliament and the National Assembly of the STC and possible ways to benefit from the expertise of southern parliamentarians in strengthening the experience of members of the Assembly in supervisory and legislative aspects.

For his part, the MP Wakid praised the efforts of President Al-Zubaidi to strengthen the unity of the southern ranks through cohesiveness and rapprochement, affirming that his announcement of joining the STC was a national duty stemming from his full conviction in the STC’s ability to achieve the aspirations of the people of the South.
