The Presidium then stood before the latest developments taking place in the region, expressing its condemnation and denunciation of the new terrorist attack conducted by the Houthi militias, on the British ship “True Confidence” as it was passing through the Gulf of Aden, which caused the death of three of its crew and the wounding of others, pointing out that the situation has reached this dangerous stage of escalation, necessitating a firm international response to the threats posed by this terrorist militia, and deterring it with all possible means to protect the safety of global maritime navigation and the supply of basic goods that save the lives of millions of peoples of the region, especially the people of the South.

In another context, the Presidium discussed the draft work plan for the STC for the year 2024, submitted by the Council’s Institutional Development Commission (IDC), which includes the main and sub-orientations of the work of the STC’s central bodies and the local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) in the governorates and districts, in addition to difficulties faced by the committee while preparing the plan and proposals to ensure easing all those challenges.

The Presidium approved, after much discussion, the draft plan, stressing the importance of accommodating the comments and raising remarks and praising the great efforts exerted by the IDC in preparing the plan and its comprehensiveness as a first and advanced experience in the organizational work of the STC.

In a separate context, the meeting listened to a summary of the amended internal regulations of the National Assembly, presented by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the Assembly, during which he reviewed the organizational structure of the Assembly, its tasks and jurisdiction, mechanisms for organizing its work, its relations with other bodies in the STC, and its legislative and supervisory powers.

At the end of its meeting, the Presidium extended its congratulations to the people of the South and the peoples of the two Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, asking Allah, the Almighty, to help everyone perform the rituals in a manner that pleases Him and to return to our people and the peoples of the region with goodness, blessings, peace, and stability.
