President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed by the Prime Minister on Measures Taken to Improve Living Conditions of Citizens

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Saturday with the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak.

In the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi congratulated Dr. Bin Mubarak on winning the confidence of the PLC to lead the government, reiterating his emphasis on the STC’s standing by and supporting the Prime Minister to bring about real and tangible change in state institutions, which will contribute to lifting the country from its current situation.

President Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Bin Mubarak on a number of measures taken by the government to improve the living conditions of citizens and the efforts made to improve public services, especially electricity, before the advent of the summer season.

President Al-Zubaidi highlighted the need for the government to assume its responsibility in finding effective mechanisms to stop the rapid deterioration in the value of the local currency and help boost central and local revenues that ensure the availability of cash liquidity to regularly pay the salaries of state employees without any delay.

At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi also stressed the importance of the government coordinating its work with all supervisory authorities, especially the Central Organization for Control and Auditing (COCA) and the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC), to preserve state resources and public money from waste and tampering and to make the most of the resources available to serve citizens.

For his part, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak expressed his thanks and gratitude to President Al-Zubaidi for the support and assistance he provided him to lead the government, affirming that the government will make the utmost efforts to properly assume the assigned responsibility and meet the good expectations of the leadership and citizens.
