President Al-Zubaidi Holds Series of Meetings on Sidelines of the WEF

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), held on Tuesday a series of important meetings on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

President Al-Zubaidi met with US Senator Mike Rounds, where he discussed with him the ongoing Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait and its repercussions on the humanitarian situation and the UN-sponsored peace process to restore stability to the country.

President Al-Zubaidi also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, Mr. Fuad Hussein, with whom he reviewed the bilateral relations that have existed between the two countries, the tension witnessed in the region, and its repercussions on the political and humanitarian situation.

President Al-Zubaidi held a series of meetings with a range of heads of studies and research centers, and met with a number of diplomats. The meetings focused on the Houthi escalation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb, the developments of the UN-led peace process, and its ramifications in light of the accelerated changes taking place in the region.

During the coming days, President Al-Zubaidi is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with heads of delegations and foreign ministers from a number of brotherly and friendly countries on the sidelines of the WEF activities to shed light on the humanitarian situation due to the escalation of the Houthi militias in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait.
