President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met at his office on Thursday with a number of businessmen and traders in Aden, led by Mr. Abu Bakr Salem Ba-Obaid, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital, Aden.
The meeting discussed aspects of coordination and integration between the government and private sector to revive the economic situation in the capital, Aden, and other governorates. In this respect, the attendees reviewed possible ways to develop the infrastructure of the Port of Aden and its technical aspects to restore its historic role as one of the most important ports in the region and the world.
In the meeting, which was attended by a range of ministers of the STC in the government, including the head of the Chamber of Commerce, merchants, traders, and representatives of commercial companies in the capital, Aden, President Al-Zubaidi listened to the overall difficulties facing their investment projects, renewing his commitment to working to provide all facilities to businessmen and provide a safe environment for their investments.
President Al-Zubaidi highlighted the pivotal role of the private sector in supporting the efforts of local authorities to restore life to the capital and other governorates, stressing the importance of integration between the public and private sectors to revive the deteriorating economic situation.
In turn, the attendees expressed their thanks and gratitude for the tireless efforts exerted by President Al-Zubaidi to ease the difficulties facing investors, appreciating his firm directives to the security services to enhance road security and prevent the collection of illegal levies, and his role in enhancing the activity of the Port of Aden by inaugurating the procedures for transferring the inspection mechanism for commercial vessels from Jeddah to Aden and lifting the ban on certain commercial goods in coordination with our official brothers in the Arab coalition countries.
