President Al-Zoubaidi Chairs Special Meeting of the Supreme Security Committee

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), chaired on Sunday a special meeting of the Supreme Security Committee.

The meeting, which was attended by Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Da'eri, Minister of Defense, Chairman of the Committee, and Major General Kamal Hamshari, member of the STC's Presidium, Office Head of the President of the STC, was devoted to discussing the latest developments in the security situation, exerted efforts to enhance security and stability in the liberated governorates, coordination and integration mechanisms between security and military units, in addition to reviewing the most prominent achievements of the armed forces in combating terrorist organizations, and the threats of the continued escalation by the Houthi militias against international shipping lanes in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden.

The meeting also shed light on the security plan for the year 2024 and the security tasks included in the plan, at the forefront of which are continuing efforts to combat terrorist groups, drug trafficking, banning the carrying of unlicensed weapons, enhancing road security, and coordination mechanisms with international organizations concerned with refugee affairs to reduce the flow of undocumented African migrants.

President Al-Zoubaidi stressed the need to strengthen security work mechanisms and the importance of the committee holding its regularly scheduled meetings to stay abreast of security developments, and to determine the most appropriate measures to meet the challenges facing security work.

At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zoubaidi highlighted the importance of enhancing integration and coordination between the security and military units to ensure the success of the security plan for the new year and its proper implementation with all efficiency.
