President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), paid on Tuesday an inspection visit to Al-Dhale'a Governorate, where his excellency was received by the Governor of the Governorate, Commander of the Al-Dhale'a Axis, Major General Ali Muqbil Saleh, and Brigadier General Abdullah Mahdi Saeed, Head of the Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC in the Governorate, and a large crowd of military and security leaders, dignitaries, and notables.
At the beginning of his visit, in which he was accompanied by a number of members of the STC's Presidium, President Al-Zoubaidi attended the expanded meeting organized by the General Secretariat of the Presidium for the LLEBs of the Council in Al-Dhale'a and its districts, academic coordinators, and the youth and women sectors.
In a speech delivered during the meeting, President Al-Zoubaidi stressed that “achieving peace in the region is contingent on resolving the issue of the South in a way that fulfills the aspirations of its people to restore their fully sovereign state,” indicating that the political process led by the UN Special Envoy will not succeed unless the issue of the people of the South is put at the forefront of issues and within its special agreed-on negotiating framework.
The President continued his speech, saying: “Our feet are firm upon our ground, and our cause is protected by the will of our people and the forearms of the heroes of our armed forces, and no political process will have prospect without resolving the issue of our people with a just solution that satisfies and meets their aspirations.”
President Al-Zoubaidi highlighted the importance of aligning and strengthening southern national cohesiveness, rejecting division, and standing against the seditionists and dissidents, noting that the South is passing through a deceive phase that calls for steadfastness, a sense of responsibility, and working in a teamwork spirit to preserve the gains that have been achieved due to the huge ultimate sacrifices made by thousands of martyrs and wounded.
President Al-Zoubaidi went on to say: “The blood of our blessed martyrs and our wounded is precious to us, and the victory that was achieved was paid for by waterfalls of pure blood in battles in which we lost our dearest men, and today we have to prepare for what is coming more than we prepared for the liberation battle that launched from this steadfast governorate.”
In organizational topics, President Al-Zoubaidi stressed the importance of improving the work of the STC's bodies in the downtowns of the governorates and districts, joining the masses of the people, and performing the role of inspecting the conditions of citizens and supporting local authorities in performing the entrusted national tasks.
As part of his visit to Al-Dhale'a, President Al-Zoubaidi chaired a meeting that included the Security Committee and the leadership of the Al-Dhale'a combat axis, in the presence of the Commander of the Ground Forces, Major General Ali Ahmed Al-Bishi, and the Commander of the Security Belt Forces, Brigadier General Mohsen Al-Wali. Initially, he saluted the legendary steadfastness of the heroes of our armed forces on the confronting fronts throughout the governorates of the South.
In his speech with the security and military leaders, the President stressed the importance of unity of command and military decision, raising the level of coordination between the security and military units, paying attention to aspects of qualification and training, and examining the fighters' conditions.
The President also stressed the importance of the security units performing their role in securing roads, halting any illegal levies, not tolerating any behavior that offends citizens, and feeling the great national responsibility put on the shoulders of each commander and soldier.
President Al-Zoubaidi addressed the attendees, saying: "Law and order are above one and all, and the security man must carry out his duties and be responsible for protecting citizens. Let justice take its course and let all support it, but if it has been exceeded, be an imperative for unleashed mayhem and destruction".
