President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), launched today, Wednesday, the center of the Higher Military Academy Center (HMAC) in the capital, Aden, announcing the inauguration of the educational program.
The President, along with the minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Da'eri, toured the HMAC and were briefed about the academy administration, the departments, and classrooms, in addition to the details of the curricula and academic programs being taught to studying officers.
After that, the President chaired a meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the heads of the Ministry’s departments, and the studying officers. In the beginning, his excellency congratulated all on the opening of this large academic edifice, stressing that this inauguration represents a first step towards reviving the Higher Military Academy and qualifying the military commanders and officers, whose responsibility is to build and develop the three types of armed forces: land forces, naval forces, and air defense, both at the tactical and strategic levels.
President Al-Zoubaidi commended the great efforts made by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense to establish this military academic edifice in the capital, Aden, and all the efforts being made to qualify the armed forces, commanders, staff, officers, and individuals.
The President addressed the attendees, saying: “Today we are going through a pivotal stage that requires the combined efforts of everyone and working in a team spirit, and what you have accomplished today by establishing this great academic edifice is an essential step towards building a strong, qualified military institution that will be the safety valve for the people and the nation.”
The President expressed his full support for the Ministry of Defense under the leadership of Lieutenant General Al-Da'eri, stressing that all the forces that were formed since the launch of Decisive Storm until today, including soldiers, officers, and military leaders, will be under his command in any military battle.
In his speech, President Al-Zoubaidi touched on the escalation of the Houthi militia and its continued threats to maritime shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden, and the dangers of this to the food and national security of the country, highlighting that the armed forces stand with the international community in protecting maritime shipping lanes.
The President affirmingly added: “We are part of the tolerant international civil community, and we have never been, and will never be, bandits or sea pirates. No one can outdo our country and our people in their standing and support for the Palestinian people throughout history. Aden was one of the first Arab capitals to embrace the people of Palestine.", whether citizens or leaders of factions, and everyone is well aware of that.”
At the end of his speech, the President urged the officers studying at the academy to exert their utmost efforts in academic attainment, to make the most of what will be offered to them in this edifice, and to pass that on to their fellow officers and soldiers. He also wished all success to the deanship of the college in its important national mission.
The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Da'eri, and Major General Hussein Nasser bin Atiq, Director of the Command and Staff College and Acting Director of the Higher Military Academy, delivered two speeches, during which they expressed thanks to President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi for honoring the leadership of the Ministry by opening the academy’s center and inaugurating the progress of the educational process.
