President Al-Zubaidi Reassures Situation in Socotra and Almahra Governorates

President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), made telephone calls to the governor of Socotra governorate, Eng. Raafat Al-Thaqali, the governor of Almahra governorate, and Mohammad Ali Yasser.

The President reassured the three governors about the conditions in their governorates and the level of readiness and measures taken to counter the possible effects of severe cyclonic storm Tej, whose direct effects on Socotra Island began on Sunday morning.

President Al-Zoubaidi stressed the importance of raising the state of readiness and coordinating efforts between various sectors on an official and popular level to face any repercussions that may result from the hurricane, Allah forbid.

President Al-Zoubaidi gave directives, during a call he made with the heads of the local leadership executive bodies of the STC in the governorates, to harness all potential, work with the local authorities to activate contingency plans, and implement urgent interventions to preserve lives as well as private and public property.

At the end of the communications, President Al-Zoubaidi prayed to Allah, the Almighty, to protect the governorates of Socotra, Hadramaut, and Almahra from any harm and wished to overcome the repercussions of the hurricane peacefully.
