President Al-Zubaidi Meets with Timor-Leste Minister of Foreign Affairs

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received at his residence in New York City today, Friday, His Excellency Bendito dos Santos Freitas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

During the meeting, they reviewed the experience that Timor-Leste went through until its people gained the right to self-determination and independence and how the Timor-Leste government overcame the challenges it faced on its way to building state institutions and establishing security and stability in the country.

The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations and ways to develop them in order to benefit from the experiences of the two friendly peoples in building up state institutions.
