President Al-Zubaidi Pays Inspection Visit and Emphasizes Expediting Aden Refinery Re-Operation
President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), paid a visit on Tuesday to the Aden Refinery Company.
Upon his arrival at the company's headquarters, President Al-Zubaidi, together with the minister of state and governor of the capital Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, held a meeting with the company's directorship, giving a precise briefing of the outcomes of the meeting of the Higher Committee for sovereign and local resources and the procedures and resolutions taken to re-operate the Aden Refinery.
The president listened to an explanation from the company's directorship about the efforts being made by the administrative and technical staff to re-operate the refinery and all the difficulties they face in this aspect.
President Al-Zubaidi underscored that the directives were issued to return the refinery to work as a free zone for storing petroleum-based products for suppliers in the first phase, with preparation for the start of the refining process in the second phase, urging the board of directors and employees to exert maximum efforts and provide the appropriate facilities and incentive opportunities to suppliers.
In the same context, the president pointed out that the return of the Aden refinery to work will give a real indication of the wheel of development in the capital, Aden, and the South in general, due to its heavy economic weight and a paramount source of revenue, hoping that his excellency will return to visit the company during the upcoming period and that it is operating at full capacity in storage and refining.
In turn, the company's directorship and staff expressed their thanks to President Al-Zubaidi and his keenness to pay an inspection visit to the refinery, affirming that this visit represents a great incentive for them to restart work at the refinery and restore its important role at the level of the capital, Aden, and the country in general.
The President was accompanied on his visit by Major General Kamal Hamshari, member of the STC's Presidium and office head of the President of the STC, and Mr. Emad Mohammed, office head of the Vice President of the PLC.
