President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), was briefed on the challenges facing press institutions in the capital Aden due to the high cost of printing, the instability of economic conditions, and the poor purchasing power of citizens.

It took place during his meeting today, Monday, with Mr. Tammam Mohammad Bashraheel, member of the National Assembly of the STC, editor-in-chief of Al-Ayyam newspaper, and Mr. Bashraheel Hisham Bashraheel, deputy editor-in-chief, as President Al-Zubaidi listened to a brief explanation about the progress of work in the newspaper and its website, as well as a set of suggestions to promote the reality of the southern media and the development of its tools, to keep pace with the rapid development of the technological revolution, and possible coordination mechanisms between the various southern media, to confront the challenges facing the cause of the South.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of the various sectors of media, whether it is printed, audiovisual, or modern media, and its significance to influence public opinion and raise citizens' awareness about their national issues, indicating that the media front is no less important than any other front in the battle of the people of the South to restore and build their aspired independent federal state.

In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi lauded the tireless efforts that have been exerted by the southern media and its activists to confront campaigns targeting the people of the South and their just cause; foremost among them was the prominent Al-Ayyam newspaper, which assumed immense responsibility for supporting the southern liberation revolution and incurring a high cost for voicing the southern sound.

At the end of the meeting, the president highlighted that Al-Ayyam newspaper has been and will remain an outlet and window for all southerners and a platform of enlightenment since it was founded by the late Mohammad Ali Bashraheel, followed in his footsteps by his uncompromisingly struggling son, the deceased of the southern press, Hisham Bashraheel, until the present time.
