President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed on Field Studies for Construction of Water Barriers in Al-Dhalea Governorate

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), was briefed on field studies for the construction of a number of water barriers in Al-Dhalea Governorate, with the support of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), during his meeting today, Tuesday, with the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Major General Salem Al-Soqatri, and several officials in the ministry.

During the meeting, which was attended by Eng. Fadhl Saleh Khamis, Director General of Irrigation Facilities at the Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Muhammad Naji, Director General of the Agriculture Office in Al Dhalea Governorate, Eng. Ammar Al-Awlaqi, supervisor of agricultural sector projects, and Mr. Ammar Al-Douma, representative of the ADFD for the implementation process, listened to a satisfied explanation about the work of the field survey committee, and the bill of quantities for the construction of a water dam in the Sha’ab Al-Nasha’ area in Al-Dhalea district, and the construction of a water barrier in Harir in the Al-Husayn district.

The President stressed the prompt completion of the procedures for both projects, and the signing of implementation contracts with the implementing agency to ensure in due time completion as per the technical specifications and the special financing program for these projects.

The President highly appreciated the developmental support provided by the official brothers in the UAE to our country in various fields, especially the agricultural and irrigation sectors, calling on the concerned authorities to make maximum efforts to benefit from these important development projects.
