President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Saturday, at his office in the capital, Aden, with the Preparatory Committee for the Southern General People's Congress (GPC), headed by Mr. Salem Al-Wali, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, and Mr. Badr, Assistant Secretary-General of the Local Council of the capital, Aden.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President welcomed the representatives of the Southern GPC, praising their positive stance and active participation in the southern national dialogue and their joining the ranks of the southern national forces that signed the National Charter.
President Al-Zubaidi affirmed that the STC is open to all southern forces that believe in restoring the state of the South with full sovereignty over its internationally recognized borders until May 21, 1990, reiterating his support for efforts to continue the southern national dialogue as a civilized approach to building the aspired federal state of the South.
In turn, representatives of the Southern GPC offered congratulations to President Al-Zubaidi for the grand success achieved in the consultative meeting hosted in the capital, Aden, last week, culminating in the signing of the Southern National Charter for the first time in the history of the South since independence.
To the end of the meeting, representatives of the Southern GPC expressed their thanks for the tireless efforts made by President Al-Zubaidi to strengthen southern cohesiveness and rapprochement and his keenness to involve the various southern national forces in drawing the features of the future state of the South as per a true partnership that establishes a state of order, law, and social justice.
