President Al-Zubaidi Witnesses Signing Ceremony of Southern National Charter

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), witnessed the signing ceremony of the Southern National Charter.

The National Charter, which was signed by the leaders of the southern political and social components after holding four consecutive days of constructive discussions in the sessions of the consultative meeting in the capital, Aden, included a range of documents, the most important of which are the Project of Foundations and Principles of the Southern National Charter, Orientations of the Political Visions of the Current Phase, Foundations and Pisciplines of the upcoming Political Negotiation, and the Orientations and Fundamentals of Building the upcoming federal state of the South.

President Al-Zubaidi congratulated the attendees at the valedictory session of the consultative meeting and all the people of the South for the grand success emanating from this meeting, which culminated in signing the National Charter, affirming that such a day will definitely be marked by letters of golden light in the unrelenting struggle of the people of the South to restore their state and reaffirming that the door of dialogue will surely remain widely open to all to catch up with the aggregated political mass and to be partners in building the aspired federal state of the South.

After that, the final statement of the consultative meeting was read, which simultaneously urged the southern components that had not participated in the meeting to join the ranks of the signatories of the Southern National Charter, stressing the importance of upholding the language of dialogue in the southern community as a civilized means to converge views, settle political differences, and promote the approach of reconciliation and tolerance and the pursuit of dialogue efforts amongst all.

Similarly, the statement called for renouncing the phenomena of feudal revenge, tribal battlements, and any other alien phenomena to the southern community and the importance of a wise-led and well-balanced media discourse that enhances the unity and cohesiveness of the southern societal fabric.

The final statement has applauded the ultimate sacrifices made by our people and the southern armed forces and recommended boosting their capabilities, drilling aspects with efficiency, and enhancing their combat skills, in addition to emphasizing the necessity to give the families of the martyrs and the wounded who had already made sacrifices the full attention and utmost care.
