President Al-Zubaidi Emphasizes Importance of Promoting Technical Education and Vocational Training Sector

The president Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Deputy head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), on Wednesday, in the capital Aden, met with Mr. Abd-Rabbo Ghanem Al-Mahwali, Deputy Minister of theTechnical Education and Vocational Training.

The president Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Mr. Al-Mahwali on the difficulties encountering the technical education and vocational training, and the interventions that affect this sector by influential personalities in the Ministry of Higher Education after they were merged into one ministry within the power-sharing government, emanated from Riyadh Agreement.

The president emphasized on promptly promoting of the technical education and vocational training, holding scientific workshops to update and upgrade its curricula and syllabuses, as well as rehabilitating the technical institutes and workshops of the ministry to ensure that this sector keeps up with the rapid scientific and technological developments.

The president affirmed the support and assistance of the PLC for the leadership of the technical education and vocational training sector, and its readiness to solve the encountered troubles hindering its progressing work, due to the high importance that this sector represents in developing the talents and capabilities of young people, and supplying the labour market with trained and qualified cadres.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of the Technical Education and Vocational Training valued the keenness of the president Al-Zubaidi to get briefed on the encountered obstacles, and lauding his support for its leadership to develop and advance the role of this vital sector.
