Upon Receiving the Ambassador of Belgium; President Al-Zubaidi assures Importance to Support Development, Revive Economy and Reconstruction
The President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Supreme Commander of the Southern Forces, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, received, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Thursday evening, H.E. Dominique Mineur, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Yemen.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the Ambassador, praising the firm bilateral relations between our country and Belgium, and the remarkable humanitarian role played by the Belgian government in alleviating effects of the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Yemen.
President Al-Zubaidi assured importance of the support that has been provided by Belgium in sectors of training, rehabilitation, and capacity-building; especially in the diplomatic aspect, supporting development projects, reviving the collapsed economy and contributing to reconstruction of the infrastructure that was destroyed by the war, foremost of which is the sectors of electricity, water, environmental sanitation, education, and health.
For her part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium expressed her happiness to meet the president, congratulating him and his colleagues in the Presidential Leadership Council emanating from Riyadh consultations, stressing that she is looking forward to working with the new leadership to assist the government to get out of the current crisis.
Ambassador Mineur affirmed readiness of her country's government to provide support to the power-sharing government to promote development, revive the economy, and building capacity of the State employees.
She stressed the importance of involving women in decision-making and various governmental sectors, stressing her country's keenness to empower Yemeni women to effectively participate in the country's political process.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed al-Ghaithi, head of the General Directorate for Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC, Mr. Saleh Ghaleb al-Quaiti, representative of the GDFA, Mr. Imad Mohammed, deputy of office director for the President of STC, and Mr. Ali al-Hadayani, Press and Media Secretary to the President of the STC.
