President Al-Zubaidi holds meeting via video with the British ambassador

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, today, Thursday, held a meeting via video with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom (Britain) to Yemen, Mr. Richard Oppenheim.

The meeting discussed the latest political, economic and military developments, and ways to address the worsening economic crisis that the governorates of the South are experiencing.

The meeting reviewed the efforts to unify the home front to confront the terrorism of the Houthi militia and the extremist elements that target security and societal peace in our country.

In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi affirmed the keenness of the leadership of the Council for the success of the government in performing its tasks and assuming its responsibilities towards the people, noting that there are parties in the legitimacy that seek to weaken the government and take its decision, which made it unable to fulfill its obligations before the people.

For his part, the British ambassador praised the responsible positions of the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, stressing that the Council will play a pivotal role in the political process aimed at ending the conflict in the region.

The ambassador also expressed his regret and condemnation of the terrorist acts recently witnessed in the capital, Aden, the latest of which was targeting the journalist Mahmoud Al-Atami and his wife, calling for concerted efforts to thwart the plans aimed at destabilizing security and stability in the capital, Aden, in light of the political movement in the city.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Mohammad Al-Abadi, Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Council, and Imad Mohammad, Deputy Director of the Office of the President of the Council, and Ali Al-Hudayani, Press and Media Secretary for President Al-Zubaidi.
