The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, on Saturday, met with a number of people from Socotra Archipelago, led by Eng. Raafat Al-Thaqali, head of the executive body of the Transitional Council’s local leadership in the governorate.
In the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, and Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Socotri, Deputy Secretary-General, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, President Al-Zubaidi praised the state of security and stability experienced by the island of Socotra under the exclusive leadership of its people, stressing the importance of preserving the gains made by the will of the sons of Socotra.
President Al-Zubaidi listened from the visiting delegation to a detailed explanation of the living situation of the people of the archipelago in light of the exceptional conditions the country is experiencing, stressing permanent support of the leadership of the Transitional Council to the People of Socotra in any difficulties they may encounter, calling in the context the leadership of the Transitional Council in the archipelago to intensify its efforts and get closer to the citizens and carry out the tasks that would alleviate the crises experienced by the citizens there.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed that Socotra is of special importance for the leadership of the Transitional Council, as it's the jewel of the South, and because of its strategic geographic location in the depth of the ocean.
For their part, the people of Socotra expressed their happiness to meet President Al-Zubaidi and sit with him to discuss their concerns and conditions, expressing thanks to him for his constant concern and continuous follow-up to the island and the conditions of its people, stressing to follow his leadership until the restoration of the southern state with its full sovereignty.
