President Al-Zubaidi chairs joint meeting of Youth and Sports Committee of National Assembly and Youth and Students Department of Secretariat
The President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, chaired on Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, a joint meeting of the Youth and Sports Committee of the National Assembly, and the Youth and Students Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council.
In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi welcomed the attendees, praising all the efforts made during the past period, and calling for more efforts that would contribute to lifting the youth side in the capital, Aden in particular, and the governorates of the South in general.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed the need to undertake the formation of youth and student unions in universities, stressing the importance of immunizing young people from drifting into policies and customs extraneous to the youth of the south, in addition to highlighting the activities of all departments, as well as concerted efforts to improve the false image of youth and sports in the south due to the systematic practices that it has been practiced by the regime of Sana'a against all southern sectors, institutions and establishments since after the unity.
President Al-Zubaidi noted that young people are one of the important pillars of nation-building, which is what must be worked on to move forward towards achieving the aspirations of the people of the South represented in restoring their state with its full sovereignty over its entire national borders before May 21, 1990.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed the need to work with all seriousness and effectiveness to restore the true and historical status of southern sports, at all levels, considering that sports in the south have an active role in building the capabilities of southern youth who bear a national responsibility, as they are one of the main bases in building the desired state of the South.
President Al-Zubaidi also stressed the importance of embracing all young people in the south, and lifting them out of the difficult situation in which they live due to the barbaric practices of the occupation against the youth of the south, marginalizing them, and excluding them from their national rights guaranteed by all constitutions, stressing the necessity to educate the southern community about the importance of sports, for what it has an important role in building state institutions.
For their part, the attendees from the Youth and Sports Committee of the National Assembly, and the Youth and Students Department in the General Secretariat, expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by the President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, aimed at restoring the right of the people of the south to restore their fully sovereign state.
They delivered full explanation of their work, as well as the activities that were implemented, and the difficulties they faced during the last period.
They also discussed their work plan for the coming period, reviewing a number of sports activities to be held, and stressing the importance of supporting sports activities in response to the desires of the youth of the south.
