President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi receives the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway

 The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, received on Wednesday, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Yemen, His Excellency Uyvend Stockke.

 In the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi reviewed the progress made in implementing the Riyadh Agreement and the mechanism for accelerating it, indicating that the Transitional Council presented everything necessary regarding the separation of forces in Abyan and their transfer to the fronts and the removal of the military forces from Aden, adding that consultations are taking place to complete the formation and announcement of the government and start implementing the military arrangements and security as agreed.

 President Al-Zubaidi appreciated the generous efforts made by the leadership of the coalition represented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and praised the effective role of the leadership of the two countries in supporting the country's stability and their progressive work to remove the hotbeds of tension and conflict.

 President Al-Zubaidi also appreciated the support provided by the Kingdom of Norway to bring peace through the Norwegian and international humanitarian organizations, and noted that the Transitional Council places the citizen’s requirements and basic needs at the forefront of its work priorities, and from this standpoint it is keen on the need to accelerate the formation of the government and carry out its tasks in the service of the citizens to alleviate the burden of the war, and the high cost of living, the collapse of services, and the lack of salaries that the citizen suffers from, in addition to trying to find solutions to the file of illegal immigration and the file of the displaced.

 President Al-Zubaidi affirmed the position of the Council in supporting the UN envoy, Martin Griffiths, to bring peace and stability to our country, noting at the same time that the Transitional Council is not committed to any understandings that are made regarding the joint declaration without its participation in studying all the relevant details.

 President Al-Zubaidi affirmed that the people of the south have a national cause that is the cause of a people, a state, and an identity, and that the Transitional Council, as an authorized leader of the people of the south, will not waive their rights, demands and legitimate aspirations to restore and build their state.

For his part, Ambassador Stockke expressed his country's support for peace and stability, and urged the need to accelerate the formation of the new government.
