President Al-Zubaidi Discusses with Minister of Youth and Sports Ways to Promote Sports Activities

President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the president of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and the deputy head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met on Wednesday, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with the Minister of Youth and Sports in the power-sharing government, Mr. Naif Saleh Al-Bakri.

President Al-Zubaidi listened from Minister Al-Bakri to a brief explanation of the ministry's activities and the challenges encountering its performance, particularly in the sports field, sports institutions, facilities, and play grounds in all governorates.

The meeting, too, discussed ways and possibilities of promoting sports activities in various games, particularly the Football League, and paying more attention to ensure having well-prepared and competitive national teams.

The President pointed out that the youth and sports sectors are crucially important, as they are the mainstay of the future and the pillar of the community. They should polish up and develop their skills and potentialities to lead the stage of construction and development, stressing the need to implement special programs and activities that enable them to promote their realities by brushing up their talents, and developing a spirit of competition among them.

For his part, Minister Al-Bakri expressed his thanks to President Al-Zubaidi for his interest and keenness in the youth and his continuous follow-up of the ministry's efforts to ease the difficulties that stand in its way.
