President Al-Zubaidi: Houthi Militia does not Believe in Peace and its Existence is Associated with War, Destruction and Blood

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the president of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Deputy Head of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stressed the need for a unified international and regional position to end the arrogance of the Houthi militia and to put an end to its continuous escalation and violations that affected civil and economic facilities, the latest of which was the targeting of oil-exporting ports in the South.

It took place in a meeting held on Tuesday evening at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with Mr. Jean-Marie Safa, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Yemen.

The meeting discussed the latest political, military, and economic developments in our country and the reasons behind the failure of international endeavours aimed at extending the international truce and establishing a lasting peace.

In the context of the meeting with the French Ambassador, President Al-Zubaidi noted the requirement of the international community and the countries sponsoring the political process in our country to assume their responsibilities in condemning the continuous terrorism of the Houthi militia and exerting pressure on it to seriously engage in the peace process since this militia does not believe in peace and its existence goes hand in hand with war, destruction, and blood.

The meeting reviewed the developments in the security situation and the positive results achieved by the military operation "Arrows of the East" in Abyan governorate, possible ways to revive the deteriorating economic situation, and the need for real reforms in the government structure and assisting state institutions to properly perform the tasks of providing services to citizens.

The president lauded the support provided by the French government to our country in the agricultural and fishing sectors, highlighting the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between our country and the Republic of France.

For his part, H.E. Jean-Marie Safa expressed his country's support for all the exerted efforts by the PLC to stabilize the situation, establish peace, and consolidate security and stability in the country and the entire region.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, director of the General Directorate for Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC and head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Committee of the PLC.
