The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held today, Monday, its periodic meeting, chaired by President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces.
The meeting was attended by the governor of the capital Aden and the cabinet ministers in the government, in which it was devoted to discussing a number of issues related to the deteriorating situation of services in Aden the capital, and the southern governorates, foremost among which was the deterioration of electricity service due to the long power outages, and the alternatives and options available to alleviate the severity of the power crisis, according to the decisions and recommendations of the Supreme Economic Committee of the Council.
The Presidency of the Council confirmed that any slowdown in the return of the government emanating from the Riyadh Agreement to the capital, Aden, and its failure to abide by and fulfill its promises as stated in the contents of the agreement, is a breach and a flagrant violation of the agreement.
The Presidency warned that any circumvention by the government in implementing its obligations puts the Transitional Council before its national responsibilities towards the people of the South to fulfill the minimum obligations towards this resistant and patient people, noting that all options are open to the Council and the people of the South.
The Presidency appreciated the relentless efforts made by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi to address the bottlenecks that the southern citizens suffer of, as a result of the collapse of the economy, the deterioration of living services, and the disruption of salaries.
The Presidency of the Council praised the heroic steadfastness of the heroes of the southern armed forces on the battlefronts against the Houthi militia, and in facing those messing with the security and stability of the south from the Brotherhood militia and terrorist organizations.
During the meeting, the Presidency evaluated the nature of internal developments and the work of the Council's bodies, praising the meetings held by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, during the past days.
The Presidency stressed the need for the Council to intensify its external political role to address the humanitarian situation and end the war, and to resolve the issue of the people of the South in a way that is acceptable to and approved by the people for themselves.
The meeting touched upon the developments in Palestine, praising the Egyptian efforts seeking to stop the war and bring peace and stability to the region, stressing on the position of the Council and the South with the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people.
