The open-ended sit-in square in the Khormaksar district of the capital, Aden, witnessed a massive public influx today, Thursday, with the arrival of large crowds from the people of Al-Dhale'a governorate in a scene reflecting rising popular momentum in support of the Southern national project, backing the steps of the political leadership of the South, led by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, and demands to declare the fully sovereign State of South Arabia.
Thousands of citizens gathered in the sit-in square, raising Southern flags of the South, chanting national slogans, and renewing their mandate for the political leadership of the South to take whatever political and historic steps are required to restore the state of the South as a legitimate right that brooks no compromise or delay.
Following the arrival of crowds from Al-Dhale’a, Maj. Gen. Ali Muqbil, the governor of the governorate, addressed the masses. He emphasized the symbolic significance of Al-Dhale’a's participation—as a land of martyrs and victories—at this pivotal national moment. He stated that the presence of its citizens in the Aden sit-in square sent a clear message, affirming the steadfastness of the Southern stance and the unity of ranks behind its political leadership.
Maj. Gen. Muqbil noted that the participation of Al-Dhalea's comes to declare their explicit position in support of President Al-Zubaidi and grant him a full mandate to declare the State of South Arabia, sending a message to the regional and international community that the people of the South are proceeding on their path towards restoring their independent state, and that this popular will forms the basis of any upcoming political process.
For his part, Brig. Gen. Abdullah Mahdi, head of the Local Leadership Executive Body (STC) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Al-Dhale'a, reaffirmed in his speech to the crowds the combative and historical role in the journey of the cause of the South, noting that it has been, and still is, a theatre of confrontation and a field of heroism on various fronts.
Brig. Gen. Mahdi explained that the participation of Al-Dhalea's masses in the open-ended sit-in square in the capital, Aden, represents a practical affirmation of the cohesiveness of the Southern ranks and their complete alignment behind their just cause and political leadership. He added that the people of Al-Dhale'a came today to send a clear message to the world that the people of the South have made their decision to restore their state.
Mahdi reiterated that the unification project in its previous form is now a thing of the past and is no longer acceptable to the people of the South. He affirmed a rejection of any attempts to revive schemes that infringe upon the Southern people's right to self-determination and the building of their independent state on its full national territory.
The massive event included several speeches by military and security leaders and national figures. Overall, they expressed the aspirations and political choices of the people of the South and called for moving forward in taking the necessary steps to declare the State of South Arabia, in response to the growing state of popular consensus.
It's worth mentioning that the events and activities of the open-ended sit-in in Khormaksar Square in the capital, Aden, continue for the nineteenth consecutive day, amid increasing public attendance from various governorates and districts of the South, in an atmosphere that has been characterised by national enthusiasm and broad public engagement, as the square resonates with revolutionary slogans and chants supporting the STC and renewing the popular mandate for President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.
