President Al-Zubaidi Inspects Work Progress at Hassan Dam Project in Abyan Governorate

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), conducted on Wednesday an on-site inspection of the strategic Hassan Dam project as part of his Excellency's visit to Abyan Governorate.

During the visit, President Al-Zubaidi was briefed on the work completed within the first phase of the strategic project, which is being implemented by the Canadian company (O.M.) with funding from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

The President listened to a comprehensive explanation from the project's supervising engineer regarding the completed work, which included the construction of concrete structures, the establishment of control gates and operational works, and project administration buildings, in addition to 1.5 kilometers of gabion protection works, alongside the implementation of the 7.5-kilometer asphalt road leading to the dam.

President Al-Zubaidi lauded the level of achievement reached in this vital infrastructure project, affirming that it will bring about a qualitative shift in the agricultural sector and contribute to replenishing groundwater in the capital, Aden, and Abyan Governorate.

At the end of his inspection visit, the President expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the brothers in the UAE, both leadership and people, for their principled stands with our people and their unlimited support for development and reconstruction projects in our country.

The President was accompanied during his visit to the project by Maj. Gen. Abu Bakr Hussein, Governor of Abyan Governorate; Abdulnasser Al-Ja'ari, a member of the STC Presidium; and Abdulrahman Sheikh, a member of the Supreme Executive Leadership of the STC, along with several governorate undersecretaries.
