President Al-Zubaidi Highlights GCC's Pivotal Role in Restoring Stability to Yemen

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), highlighted the pivotal role of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in advancing peace and restoring security and stability in the country. It took place during his meeting on Wednesday with His Excellency Mr. Jasem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), at the headquarters of the Council's General Secretariat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, they reviewed the latest political and humanitarian developments in the country and underlined the efforts exerted by regional and international partners to end the conflict, promote the path to peace, and restore security and stability to the entire region.

The meeting touched on the rapidly evolving events in the region and their repercussions on the humanitarian situation in the country and highlighted the role of the GCC in backing the PLC and the government, supporting the efforts to normalize the situation, reforming the performance of state institutions, and improving living conditions and public services in liberated areas to stabilize the region.

In this context, His Excellency Jasem Al-Buduwi affirmed that the GCC countries are fully supporting all relief and humanitarian efforts to help our people overcome economic and livelihood challenges and noted that the GCC Secretariat looks forward to hosting the International Conference on Food Security in Yemen in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Farhan al-Muneikher, Charge d'Affaires of the GCC to Yemen, and from the side of the STC: Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, a member of the STC's Presidium and Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC) supporting the PLC; Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, Head of the Political Commission assisting the Presidium of the STC; Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Mr. Imad Mohammed, office director of the Vice President of the PLC; and Mr. Saleh Al-Quaiti, Advisor to the Vice President of the PLC.
