President Al-Zubaidi Gives Directives to Support Health Sector with IV Fluids to Combat Epidemic Outbreaks

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), issued on Wednesday evening directives to provide an adequate supply of intravenous (IV) fluids for hospitals, fever treatment centers, and epidemic control centers to bolster the capacity of medical staff for rapid response to emergencies, curb the surging of epidemics, and save loss of life.

President Al-Zubaidi's directives came in response to an urgent alert from Brigadier General Dr. Aref Al-Da'eri, Director of Medical Services for the Southern Armed Forces and Security, who issued a high-priority call reporting a critical shortage of IV fluids in hospitals, fever treatment centers, and epidemic control facilities amid simultaneous outbreaks in different areas that are experiencing concurrent surges of epidemics such as cholera, dengue fever, malaria, and acute diarrhea, necessitating immediate intervention to provide essential life-saving medical supplies, primarily Ringer's solution, saline solutions, mixed solutions, and IV glucose solutions.
