President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), held a series of bilateral meetings with heads of delegations participating in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
The President commenced his series of meetings with an engagement with His Excellency Jasem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), during which they focused on the latest political and economic developments in the country, as well as the dire humanitarian living conditions endured by our people due to the ongoing conflict and the efforts that have been exerted by the regional and international community to bring about peace and restore stability to the country.
Both sides exchanged views on ways to support the PLC's efforts to revive the economy, highlighting the importance of boosting economic cooperation with the GCC to achieve sustainable development and rebuild the war-ravaged infrastructure.
During the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi lauded the key role of the GCC countries in supporting peace and stability in the country, underscoring the need for joint coordination to address the challenges facing the region.
In another context and on the sidelines of the forum, President Al-Zubaidi met Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) in Iraq. During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest political and humanitarian developments in the country in light of regional and international developments and the efforts exerted at both regional and international levels to restore stability to the region.
Later this evening, President Al-Zubaidi will continue his bilateral meetings with heads of government and foreign ministers participating in the WEF.
