President Al-Zoubaidi Receives Junior Football Team and CommendsTheir Triumph

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zoubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received on Saturday afternoon, at the headquarters of the STC in the capital, Aden, the delegation of the national junior football team that won the tenth West Asian Championship, whose competitions were hosted in Salalah city.

At the warm reception, which was attended by members of the STC's Presidium, Major General Kamal Hamshari, Office Head of the President of the STC, Mr. Moamen Al-Saqqaf, Head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the STC in the Capital, Aden, and Head of the Political Commission, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, President Al-Zubaidi congratulated the junior team for the great achievement that had been fulfilled, commending the efforts of all those who contributed to reaching the podium without exception.

The president addressed the national team, saying, "The importance of your milestone achievement lies in the festive atmosphere, the overwhelming joy witnessed in all governorates, and the happiness that has been drawn on the faces of all, both at home and abroad; you are the best representative of your homeland and your people in this external forum."

The President called on the captain of the national football team to keep involved in sports and to stay away from whatever harms their talent, whether on a physical or moral level, to achieve more positive results in the upcoming football tournaments.

In the context of his speech, the President affirmed his full support for the junior national team mission and for all the youth and athletes of all walks of life, away from any political affiliations, because sports carry noble values and messages that go beyond the concept of profit and loss.

At the end of his speech, President Al-Zoubaidi directed that all members of the mission be honored in a manner befitting the football triumph they fulfilled at the regional level and to motivate them to achieve greater results in upcoming football tournaments at the continental level.

In turn, the headship of the football team  appreciated President Al-Zoubaidi’s keenness to receive them and the special honor that they have received from his excellency, expressing gratitude for his incessant support for youth and athletes in various fields.

The reception was attended by Mr. Al-Kuraihi Kanaan, Head of the Youth and Sports Department in the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the STC, undersecretaries of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Mr. Khaled Mohsen Al-Khulaifi, Dr. Azzam Khalifa, Captain Wijdan Shazly, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the capital, Aden, and Mr. Abdul-Karim Al-Sharjabi, Secretary-General of the Football Association in the capital, Aden.
