President Al-Zubaidi Meets with Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Philippines

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met on Tuesday evening at his residence in New York City, USA, with the Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Mr. Enrique Manalo.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the situation in light of the regional and international endeavours and efforts aimed at ending the war and bringing about sustainable peace in the country.

President Al-Zubaidi explained to the Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs that his visit to New York, along with the Chairman of the PLC, comes within the efforts of the leadership of the PLC to bring the crisis file in the country back to the forefront of international focus and attention and to mobilize international efforts to find a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the conflict that Yemen is witnessing, reiterating the importance of starting a precondition-free dialogue under the auspices of the UN to discuss the pivotal issues, foremost of which is the cause of our people in the South.

For his part, Mr. Manalo affirmed the support of his country's government for the UN endeavours aimed at ending the war and bringing peace to Yemen and its readiness to support humanitarian projects and provide assistance in rebuilding the infrastructure destroyed by the war, in addition to assisting in qualifying and training programs in the youth and women sectors.
