President Al-Zubaidi Gets Briefed on Work Progress at Aden Refinery

President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Saturday, with the Executive Director of Aden Refinery Company, Eng. Ahmed Musaed.

In the meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Transportation, Dr. Abdul Salam Humaid, and Eng. Tariq Al-Walidi, Executive Director of the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC), President Al-Zubaidi was briefed on the progressing work at the refinery, the level of fulfilled maintenance, and mechanisms to bring it into service as it had reviously been operating. In this respect, the President stressed the importance of exerting maximum efforts to re-operate the refinery, facilitate the entry of crude oil to cover the local demand for petroleum-based products, and export the excess abroad.

In a related context, President Al-Zubaidi has given directives to the Ministry of Transport to provide all facilities and privileges to merchants and importers through the ports of the capital, Aden. Furthermore, the President directed the executive director of YPC to control and regulate the entry of petroleum-based products into the capital, Aden, and neighboring areas and to coordinate with the security services to prevent smuggled quantities from any quarter.
