President Al-Zubaidi Holds Meeting with Abyan bloc in Assembly and Members of Secretariat 

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, held today, Tuesday, a meeting with the Abyan bloc in the National Assembly and its members of the General Secretariat of the Presidium of the STC.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, and members of the STC's Presidium such as Brigadier General Ali Al Shaybah and Brigadier General Pilot Nasser Al Saadi, President Al-Zubaidi reiterated that Abyan has its political, economic, and military presence and weightiness since it represents the flank of the South, its geographical depth, and its food basket.

Similarly, the President commended the militant roles of the people of Abyan along the journey of the southern liberation revolution, the ultimate sacrifices they made to support the southern armed forces, and their efforts to consolidate security and stability and confront terrorist organizations that want to jeopardize Abyan and its people.

Likewise, President Al-Zubaidi affirmed that Abyan has never been an incubator of terrorism but rather that its people and their governorate were the first to forge in the fire of its suffering, underscoring that futile attempts to turn the governorate into a hotbed of terrorism by deceived and distorted extremist elements were in vain, as we will all keep a sharp lookout for the eccentricity and terror of that group, first and foremost by the heroes of the governorate itself.

Furthermore, President Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the primary responsibility for solving the problems that Abyan suffers from lies in the hands of the people of the governorate themselves, stressing in this context the need to activate the work of the local leaders of the STC in all the districts and centers of the governorate, to intensify their efforts among the citizens, and to effectively contribute to finding quick possible solutions to all problems and concerns of the people.

After that, the President listened to a range of opinions and suggestions on the challenges that confront the governorate of Abyan and possible ways to solve them, expressed gratitude for his keenness and special interest in restoring security and stability to the governorate, and articulated their readiness to carry out any tasks that would contribute to solving the problems that face the governorate and consolidating security and stability.

To the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi designated a committee of those present, led by Major General Mohammad Ali Hadi, deputy head of the Security Committee of the National Assembly, to pay an inspecting visit to the governorate and find out the needs and all the problems it is witnessing in various fields, and work to provide effective solutions with all available means, in coordination with the concerned authorities, the security services, the local leaders of the STC in the districts and centers, sheikhs, notables, and social figures, confirming his full support for the committee to be able to properly accomplish its assigned tasks.
