President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, President of the Soutuhern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received on Tuesday evening H.E. Jean-Marie Safa, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Yemen.
During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations that have existed between our country and France and discussed ways and mechanisms to enhance aspects of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries, in addition to the developments in the political and humanitarian situation in our country in light of the regional and international political movement to end the war and establish peace in the entire region.
At the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi appreciated the great humanitarian support provided by the French government to relieve the suffering caused by the war on our people, expressing his confidence in intensifying French support for the power-sharing government to assist its endeavors to stop the economic deterioration in the country.
President Al-Zubaidi was also briefed by the French ambassador about the results of his visits and the delegation that accompanied him from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the capital Aden and the governorates of Hadramout and Lahj, and about the projects announced by the delegation to support young entrepreneurs, support fishermen in Hadramout, and other projects sponsored by the French government in our country.
The meeting touched on the efforts to combat terrorism led by the southern armed forces in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa with the support of official brothers in the United Arab Emirates, and the results achieved by military operation Arrows of the East in expelling terrorist elements from their main strongholds in Abyan governorate.
For his part, the French ambassador renewed his country's government's position in support of the PLC and the government's efforts to continue economic reforms to preserve the minimum means of livelihood for citizens in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through, expressing his admiration for the state of security that he and his accompanying delegation experienced during his recent visit to Aden, Hadramout and Lahj.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Judy, the military attache at the French embassy, and Mr. Hussein Murshid, the political advisor at the embassy. and from the PLC, Mr. Imad Muhammad, Director of the Office of the Deputy Chairman of the Leadership Council, and Mr. Saleh Al-Quaiti, Advisor to the Vice-President of the PLC.
