STC Women's Commission Discusses with CMI Foundation Promoting Women's Empowerment in Political Process
Dr. Suhair Ali Ahmed, head of the Women Commission assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), received on Wednesday, at her office in the capital, Aden, a delegation from CMI-Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, headed by Ms. Julia Pickhardt, director of the peace project for the Middle East and North Africa, and advisor, Ms. Henrietta Toivanen.
In the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Suhair warmly welcomed the delegation of the Foundation, giving a brief overview of the work of the Women's Commission and its dedicated efforts in various fields.
The meeting discussed avenues for collaboration and coordination between the Commission and the Foundation, aiming to join up efforts to create programs that advance women's empowerment in the political process and enhance their presence in leadership roles and decision-making positions.
In turn, the Foundation delegation expressed commitment to strengthening cooperation, highlighting their readiness to actively organize activities and workshops that contribute to fostering dialogue and enhancing women's empowerment in the political process.
