STC Assembly Calls for International Condemnation of Houthi Militia's Heinous Execution of Southern Prisoners in Al-Musaimeer

The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Issam Abdo Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Ali expressed sincere gratitude to our official brothers in the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for their unwavering support and solidarity with the people of the South in combating terrorist organizations and the Houthi militia, highlighting that the South's valiant armed forces serve as a spearhead in countering terrorism and a thorn in the side of the Iranian project and its sectarian militias.

In his speech, Mr. Al-Kathiri touched on the tasks assigned to the field teams for raising political awareness, surveying, and evaluating the performance of the STC bodies, which have begun their missions under the directives of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, expressing his confidence that these on-the-ground missions will culminate in bringing about a qualitative development in the organizational performance of all bodies of the STC.

The body has thoroughly studied reports circulating about the terrorist Houthis' heinous execution crime committed against a number of prisoners of the South who had been captured earlier at Al-Musaimeer front in Lahj Governorate and expressed its strong condemnation and deep denunciation of this heinous crime, which gravely violates all international humanitarian laws and the rights of prisoners during armed conflicts.

The body called on UN Special Envoy Mr. Hans Grundberg, as well as relevant international and humanitarian organizations, to condemn this heinous crime, which reflects the terrorist and barbaric behavior of this militia, urging for serious and tangible measures to prevent the brutal violations committed by this militia and to ensure that it does not evade prosecution and is held accountable for its crimes before international courts.

In the related context, the body paid tribute to the souls of the blessed martyrs who ultimately sacrificed their precious lives for the Southern homeland, reaffirming that their blood will not be in vain and that such heinous crimes will only strengthen the Southern Forces' resolve and determination to achieve their goals and defend the land and preserve the dignity.

The body reviewed the proposal submitted by the Legislative and Legal Committee in the Assembly with a legislative vision for building the federal civil state of the South as part of the committee's annual plan.

At the end of the meeting, the body approved the minutes of its previous meeting and the legislative vision to be submitted to the STC's president for final approval.
