STC Relief Commission Continues Distributing Food Baskets to Needy Families in Governorates of the South

The Humanitarian Aid and Relief Commission (HARC), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), has continued on Sunday sending convoys of food baskets to needy and low-income families in the governorates of the South that are done under the directives of President Aidarous al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and with the support of the brotherly United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Laweyr Niran Souqi, Head of the HARC, explained that the relief aid provided by the official brothers in the UAE and directed by President Al-Zubaidi is distributed to the poorest and most needy families. The aid convoys will be handed over to the local leadership executive bodies (LLEB) in the capital, Aden, and the governorates of Lahj and Dhale. The first phase of this campaign was launched last week, with food baskets being sent to the governorates of Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramawt, Mahrah, and Socotra.

Souqi expressed her thanks and appreciation to the UAE for its unwavering support of the South and its people. She affirmed that this support is not uncommon and non-new to the UAE, which has always stood with the South under all circumstances. Moreover, she praised the great role of President al-Zubaidi in standing by the families of the martyrs in the South.

It is worth mentioning that the second phase aims to provide 23,000 baskets of basic food items to needy and low-income families in all governorates of the South, in light of the difficult economic conditions that the South is going through during the blessed month of Ramadan.
