NSMA and YNR Hold First Coordination Meeting

The National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) and Yemeni National Resistance (YNR) media outlets held their first coordination meeting on Tuesday at the headquarters of NSMA in the capital, Aden, in a move aimed at strengthening media cooperation and coordination to counter the existing challenges and threats, particularly the common enemy, the Houthi terrorist militias and extremist groups.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe'y, deputy head of NSMA, and Nabil Al-Sufi, media advisor to the YNR, with the participation of senior media officials from both sides.

The meeting discussed a range of topics pertaining to media cooperation, highlighting the importance of coordinating efforts and aligning perspectives to face media challenges, counter disinformation campaigns, and amplify coverage of national issues of both parties in the media, and agreed on a set of general principles that regulate cooperation while adhering to mutual respect for individual specificities, avoiding disagreements, and conducting in a spirit of responsibility.

At the end of the meeting, it was announced that a joint coordination team would be formed to handle communication tasks, prepare incremental media plans, coordinate coverage from the frontlines, and build a robust and sustainable media partnership.

The meeting was convened as per the directives of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), and Brig. Gen. Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh, Head of the Political Bureau of the YNR, Vice Chairman of the PLC, and builds upon previous engagements that underscored the importance of intensifying media coordination at this critical stage that the country is going through, to serve the liberation battle and defend the national fundamentals of the two parties.
