The STC Acting President Chairs Media Authority Meeting and Highlights Media's Role in Countering Challenges

Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), concurrently serving as Minister of State and Governor of the capital, Aden, chaired on Monday morning an expanded meeting of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), held at the authority's headquarters.

During the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Moamen Al-Saqqaf, a member of the STC’s Presidium and head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) of the STC in the capital, Aden, Mr. Lamlas reviewed a range of pressing issues afflicting the capital, with a focus on the electricity outage crisis and the deterioration of public services as a result of what he described as a "systematic war targeting the livelihood of citizens of the South and undermining their firm resolve."

The acting president emphasized the vital need for Southern media to fulfill its national and professional role in raising awareness about the threats and challenges facing the capital, Aden, and the South as a whole, urging media outlets to adhere to objectivity and credibility in conveying the truth and to expose malicious media campaigns and hostile disinformation targeting the South and its just cause.

Mr. Lamlas listened to interventions and remarks from the attending members, which focused on the main challenges facing media of the South and explored effective ways to promote its efficiency and effectiveness during this critical period.

The acting president emphasized the paramount importance of unifying the media narrative discourse and enhancing coordination across media outlets, noting that the media is the front line of defense in the battle for raising national awareness and safeguarding the identity of the South.

Lamlas concluded his speech by extending gratitude to all media professionals and members of the South for their efforts and affirmed the STC leadership's full support for bolstering media capabilities and easing any obstacles they may encounter.
