Major General Bin Brik praises the role of women in Abyan governorate

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, stressed the importance of the role of women in Abyan governorate, especially in the aspect of education, instilling patriotism and creating struggle awareness among generations, and their participation alongside their male brother in all stages of struggle and their active role in the southern peaceful movement and participation in supporting the fronts of resistance against extremism and terrorism.

This came during his meeting on Tuesday in his office with the academic and writer Afaf Salem and educator Nada Salem from Zinjibar district, in Abyan Governorate.

In the meeting, which included Aisha Talib, head of the Women and Child Committee in the National Assembly, bin Brik discussed a number of issues related to the status of women and activating their societal role and ways to provide support to enhance their activities.

During the meeting, educational and service issues and the suffering of citizens in the governorate in general, and Zinjibar district in particular, were reviewed.

The academic, writer Afaf and educator Nada expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the National Assembly for providing the opportunity for this meeting and his role in strengthening southern cohesion and stressing the importance of the southern dialogue to bring the views closer to serving the south and its just cause and achieving the goals for which the people of the south struggled to restore their state, praising the decisions and recommendations of the fourth session of the National Assembly and the good organization of the meeting that was held in the capital in the middle of this month.
