NSMA Deputy Head Meets with Delegation of UN Envoy Office in the Capital, Aden

Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe'y, deputy head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met on Wednesday at the headquarters of NSMA in the capital, Aden, with Mr. Edward Jackson, Director of the Office of the UN Special Envoy in Aden, Ms. Mai Al-Sheikh, Head of Media and Strategic Communication in Jordan, and Ms. Tamana Obaid, Head of the Political Section in the Envoy's Office in Aden.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Yafe'y reaffirmed the STC's position in supporting the efforts of the UN Special Envoy to bring about a just and comprehensive peace that fulfills the aspirations of our people in the South and the country for a decent life and durable and lasting peace.

Mr. Al-Yafe'y expressed the importance of cooperation and coordination with the Office of the UN Special Envoy in Aden to achieve the desired goals that pave the way for the peace process through continued coordination and cooperation in the media field, noting that Aden is currently witnessing a high ceiling of media, press, and journalistic freedom despite the exceptional circumstances that the country is passing through.

In turn, the visiting delegation expressed the thanks and appreciation of the Office of the UN Special Envoy for the cooperation of NSMA in easing the carrying out of the media tasks they perform, looking forward to further coordination bonds and joint cooperation.
