Statement by official spokesman about terrorism practices of Brotherhood militias against people of Shabwa

"The militias of Muslim Brotherhood that are occupying Shabwa governorate continued their practices of terrorism, intimidation and aggression against the people of the governorate, as these militias, coming from Marib and Al-Jawf, stormed on Saturday, June 26, 2021, the peaceful popular event square in Nisab district of Abadan region, which is organized by the people of Shabwa governorate to express their aspirations and their rejection of the aggressive and oppressive approach which these militias practice through intermittent operations, warring, incursions into villages and homes, and continuous kidnappings against the people of Shabwa and the south in general.

The Southern Transitional Council considers these aggressive practices to undermine the Riyadh Agreement and the efforts to complete its implementation, so the representatives of the Council find, in the consultations to implement the agreement, that the other party intends to thwart the efforts of the sponsors to stop the escalation and implement the agreement.

Accordingly, the Southern Transitional Council calls on its representatives in the negotiations to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement to stop all forms of communication and direct contact with the other party, so that the file of Shabwa governorate is placed at the forefront of the implementation priorities of the Riyadh Agreement, and the situation in it is fully addressed.

At the same time, the Southern Transitional Council salutes the steadfastness of the heroic people of Shabwa, who faced brute force by insisting on implementing their peaceful activities and communicating their messages, and calls on them to continue their struggle role in expressing their aspirations in a way that achieves the salvation of Shabwa and its sons from the Brotherhood militias and its terrorist arms."
