Vice-President of the Southern Transitional Council, Sheikh Hani bin Brik Attends the Memorial Service of the Martyr Abu Hatm


  Vice-President of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Sheikh Hani bin Brik attended today the memorial service of the martyr Abdul Majid Ali Shayie (Abu Hatm), the staff officer of the special protection battalion of the Southern Transitional Council.

  During the ceremony, Sheikh Hani Bin Brik delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of President Aidroos al-Zubaidi to all the attendees, then he enumerated the heroic virtues of the martyr and his role in the resistance, revealing the story behind the nickname of the martyr (Abu Hatm), which was derived from the first resistance movement in the south after the 1994 war "Hatm movement".

  Sheikh Hani Ben Brik also touched on the great role played by the president Aidroos al-Zubaidi in Hatm movement and the exerted efforts to establish it. Sheikh Hani made a vow to finalize constituting the martyr welfare fund for the families of the martyrs of the south since the independence revolution of the 14th of October.

  For his part, the head of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the province of al-Dali', Commander Abdullah Mahdi welcomed the attendees and thanked them for enduring the travel problems to be at the memorial service of the martyr Abu Hatm. He indicated Abu Hatm's roles in struggle for liberation and independence in the South, adding that he was the youngest southern revolutionist to joins the ranks of the movement at the age of sixteen.

  The memorial was attended by the members of the presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Fadl al-Ja'di and the lawyer Niran Hassan Soukhi, head of the Rights and Freedoms Department.
