The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held today, Monday, its periodic meeting, chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Council.
The meeting, which was attended by the ministers of the Council in the government of parity, discussed the most important issues on its agenda, and the related efforts to address the crisis of frequent power outages, and efforts to increase the generation capacity of existing stations, as well as operating the "100" megawatts station into service as soon as possible.
In this regard, the Presidency praised the great efforts made by the Governor of the capital, Aden, the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, and his assistant team, engineers, and workers in the Electricity Power Corporation in the capital, to alleviate the deteriorating situation of the electric power.
The Presidency of the Council also stressed the importance of delivering water to all districts of the capital, Aden, and addressing the frequent cuts of water in some neighborhoods and populated areas, as based on binding agreements and understandings in this regard, which were reached with the Ministry of Water and its local institutions in the governorates of Lahij and Abyan.
The Presidency of the Council saluted the legendary steadfastness of the people of the South in the face of the current challenges, foremost of which is the war of services waged by the enemies.
The Presidency also praised the bravery of the heroes of the Southern Armed Forces in defending the homeland of the South, maintaining its security and stability by combating terrorist organizations and eliminating their cells, and in fighting weapons smuggling to the capital, Aden, and to other governorates of the South, and confronting the attempts to turn some areas of the South into outposts for crimes.
The Presidency renewed its absolute confidence in the ability of the people of the South and its armed and security forces to confront all those who tamper with security and stability, praising all the steps taken by the security services to control crimes, prevent carrying weapons, to make cars numbered, and to ensure the siege of outlaw groups, calling at the same time, the sons of all the South to feel a common national responsibility and to cooperate with the southern security services.
During the meeting, the Presidency evaluated the ongoing preparations to hold the fourth session of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, which is scheduled to be held during the period of 16-17 of current June, stressing the importance of holding this session, in a way that enhances the oversight work of the National Assembly at the level of southern institutions.
The Presidency also reviewed the role and movements of the Transitional Council negotiating delegation that is currently in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, appreciating the efforts of the brothers in the countries of the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to resume discussions on the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, and its pivotal role in laying the foundations for peace, considering that the Riyadh Agreement is the most effective way to establish peace, and to unify efforts to confront the Persian extension represented by the Houthi militia, which is a real threat to the security and stability of the region.
In conclusion, the Presidency evaluated the most important activities and events implemented by the General Secretariat, in addition to discussing a number of organizational issues related to the work of the various Council bodies, and took the necessary measures in this regard.
