Women Rally at Open Sit-in Square in Socotra to Demand Declaration of South Arabia State

A large-scale women's rally was held at the open-ended sit-in square in downtown Hadibu in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate today, Wednesday, demanding the declaration of the South Arabia state, in an event reflecting the proactive presence and pivotal role of Southern women in the national struggle movement.

The rally was led by the Director of the Women and Children Administration at the Socotra Transitional Council Executive Body, Ms. Asma Nazer Ali, and her deputy, Ms. Asrar Saleh, alongside participation from National Assembly members Ms. Najwa Nazer and Fatima Thani, and a number of activists and women leaders.

Participants waved flags of the South and displayed photos of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi. They chanted national slogans expressing Southern women's adherence to the right of the people of the South to restore their fully sovereign state, and they reaffirmed that their presence embodies their determination to remain at the forefront of the struggle until the envisioned independence is realized.

The rally stressed in their speeches that women of the South have been and will forever remain an essential partner in the national struggle journey, having made significant sacrifices alongside men at various stages, and indicated that the current moment represents a pivotal stage in the cause of the South and that the demand to declare the state of South Arabia has become a popular imperative that brooks no delay.

The free women of Socotra emphasised that South Arabia deserves to be a free, independent state and that the firm will of its people is steadfastly advancing towards achieving this goal, and they called on the regional and international community to respect the will of the people of the South and their legitimate right to self-determination.

This women's rally comes as part of a series of ongoing popular events at the open-ended sit-in square in Socotra Governorate, reaffirming Southern cohesiveness and renewing the pledge to continue the peaceful struggle until the declaration of South Arabia and the realisation of the people's aspirations for freedom and independence.
