President Al-Zubaidi Conducts Public Hospital Inspection and Reviews Progress of University Project in Shabwah

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), conducted a visit on Wednesday morning to the Shabwa Public Hospital Authority and the university project in the governorate.

During the visit, President Al-Zubaidi was accompanied by Shabwa Governor Sheikh Awad bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaqi, Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, a member of the STC's Presidium, Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC), members of the STC's Presidium and supporting bodies, government ministers, and Sheikh Lahmar bin Ali Laswad, Head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB), the President toured the hospital’s sections and was briefed by Dr. Ali Nasser Amdhib, Director General of the Health Office in the governorate, and Dr. Hussein Al-Tawil, Director of the Hospital, on the level of equipment, bed capacity, and the free medical care provided to patients from the governorate and neighboring governorates, which include a range of major surgeries, complex surgical procedures, and diagnostic endoscopies performed by a specialized international medical team, in addition to the local medical staff renowned for their highly skills and expertise.

At the end of his conducted tour of the hospital, President Al-Zubaidi lauded the ongoing fraternal and humanitarian support provided by the United Arab Emirates to hospitals and healthcare centers in Shabwa Governorate and other liberated governorates, as well as its incessant efforts to support the healthcare sector in the country as a whole. Moreover, his Excellency praised the tireless efforts made by Shabwa Governor Sheikh Awad bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaqi to elevate the healthcare sector in the governorate and his notable contributions to improving the governorate’s health infrastructure and rehabilitating its facilities.

In a separate conducted visit, President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi reviewed the completed work on the construction of the Shabwa university perimeter wall and main gate. His Excellency was briefed by Governor Al-Awlaqi and the university chancellor, Dr. Tawfiq Ba-Sarda, on the progress of the construction of the College of Medicine within the new university campus, as well as the details of the project, which has a total cost of three billion riyals, funded by the local authority in the governorate.
