President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (LPC), met on Wednesday in the capital, Aden, with a delegation from the Belgian Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders-MSF).
President Al-Zubaidi received a detailed briefing from the coordinator of the MSF's mission in the country, Alessandra Godisanderia, outlining the current and future programs in the capital, Aden, and liberated governorates, which include emergency medical services, support for hospitals and health centers, relief programs for those affected by crises and conflicts, as well as epidemic control efforts and healthcare provision to underserved remote areas.
President Al-Zubaidi praised the MSF’s prominent role in alleviating citizens’ suffering, noting that its specialized interventions have saved thousands of lives of patients and injured, and expressed hope for further initiatives to address gaps in the healthcare sector and strengthen medical facilities amid ongoing challenges.
President Al-Zubaidi reaffirmed the commitment of both the STC and the PLC to providing a conducive environment for the MSF and all international organizations, ensuring necessary facilitations for their teams to perform their tasks smoothly and easily and deliver their services to reach the beneficiaries without obstacles.
In turn, the MSF representatives expressed their thanks and appreciation to President Al-Zubaidi for his continued support and cooperation, reiterating their commitment to continue their humanitarian operations and expand the scope of their projects to meet the growing needs of the people, particularly under the country’s exceptional circumstances.
