The STC Welcomes UN General Assembly Vote in Favor of Resolution Back Palestinian Bid for Full Membership

The Southern Transitional Council (STC) welcomes the vote by the overwhelming majority of members of the UN General Assembly in favor of the resolution submitted by the Arab Group to back the right of the State of Palestine to full membership in the United Nations.

The STC believes that the adoption of this resolution by a vast majority of 143 votes confirms that the world stands with the freedom and right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, security, stability, and peace.

The STC commends the effective diplomatic efforts of the Arab Group, chaired by the brotherly United Arab Emirates (UAE), in backing the resolution and promoting it within the context of the Arab position supporting the two-state solution, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
